Dharma rain
hits the metal roof
just outside the window
with a loud beat
bam!
and then it's gone
and there is emptiness in between.
Like the rhythm of speech
it comes
and I listen
waiting,
shocked at the clarity,
the finality,
the impermanence.
It is so simple.
In the cold light,
I see nothing,
feeling
the waste of my past,
the void of my future,
and the present moment
expanding
to fill the universe.
